The French River is located approximately 320 kilometers north of Toronto and about 60 kilometers south of Sudbury. It leaves Lake Nipissing on a westerly route for 130 kilometers to reach Georgian Bay on Lake Huron. The French River is a long series of island dotted lakes connected by rapids and falls that gently lower the river a total of 20 meters. It is a boating and canoeing paradise that provides a variety of opportunities to suit every taste. Presqu'ile Cottages is located along the northern channel of the French River.
The French River is famed widely as one of the best rivers for fishing. Whether you tote a fly or spinning rod, still-fish or troll, returning fishermen will assure you of a handsome catch. Walleye and Northern Pike are accessible when the season opens on the 3rd Saturday in May. The Muskie season opens the 1st Saturday of June. Large Mouth and Small Mouth Bass also inhabit the surrounding waters of the French River and the season opens the last Saturday in June. Numerous bass lakes encompass the camp and may be accessed by short portages.
At Presqu’ile Cottages you can find one, two, or three bedroom cottages. Cottages accommodate from two to six people. For our campground guests, we offer sites for tents and trailers/RV’s.
